Avio è un gruppo internazionale leader nella realizzazione e nello sviluppo di lanciatori spaziali e sistemi di propulsione solida, liquida e criogenica per il trasporto spaziale. L’esperienza e il know-how acquisiti nel corso degli oltre 50 anni di attività consentono ad Avio di primeggiare nel campo dei lanciatori spaziali, nonché nei programmi di difesa. Avio è presente in Italia, Francia, Stati Uniti e Guyana Francese con 5 stabilimenti ed impiega circa 1.300 persone altamente qualificate, di cui il 30% circa impegnate in attività di ricerca e sviluppo. Avio opera in qualità di prime contractor per il programma Vega e di subcontractor per il programma Ariane, entrambi finanziati dalla European Space Agency (ESA), permettendo all’Italia di essere presente nel ristretto numero di paesi al mondo in grado di produrre un vettore spaziale completo.

Avio is a leading international group engaged in the construction and development of space launchers and solid, liquid and cryogenic propulsion systems. The experience and knowhow built up over more than 50 years puts Avio at the cutting edge of the space launcher sector and defence program. Avio is present in Italy, France, United States and France Guyana with 5 facilities, employing approx. 1,300 highly qualified personnel, of which approx. 30% involved in research and development. Avio is a prime contractor for the Vega programme and a sub-contractor for the Ariane programme, both financed by the European Space Agency (ESA) placing Italy among the limited number of countries capable of producing a complete spacecraft.
Booth 04 | Sapienza University of Rome (CRAS, DIMA)
With over 700 years of history, more than 120,000+ total students, 3,500+ professors, 3,000+ professional staff, Sapienza University of Rome is the largest university in Europe. Its mission is to contribute to the development of the knowledge society through research, excellence, quality education, and international cooperation. The most influential university rankings worldwide place Sapienza among the first Italian Universities for its research, educational quality, and international dimension. In the rankings for aerospace engineering Sapienza is a reference point being placed in positions such as 15th worldwide, 2nd in Europe, and 1st in Italy, in the last decade. Its historical role in the field of aeronautics and aerospace has roots in the 1920s paving the way for the important role of Aerospace in Italy. The two branches of Sapienza supporting the EUCASS conference are the Sapienza Center for Aerospace Research (CRAS) and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMA). CRAS is an interdepartmental center established in 2008 to include about 100 faculties from 11 departments covering not only the traditional engineering and physics fields but also other disciplines which are playing an increasing role in aerospace, such as medicine, chemistry, economy. DIMA is one of the Departments of excellence of Sapienza, with this award received because of the outstanding research performed in the field of aerospace and mechanical engineering. DIMA is responsible for 1000 students in aerospace engineering spreading at the three levels of bachelor, master and PhD and of the specialized researches carried out in the field of aerospace engineering.
